EN-KO translation: in the unlikely event

I always wondered that what is '혹시' in English.
Korean people use '혹시' so many times.
For example,
1. 혹시 지금 배고프면 밥 먹자.
2. 혹시 쟤가 네가 말한 그 애니?
and so on...

This sentence means...
1. If you are hungry now, let's have a meal.
2. Is that her who you talked about?

'혹시' is very very hard to translate to English word-to-word.
I think in English they don't necessarily use '혹시' in most case.
'혹시' means directly "in the unlikely event".

So, the above sentences would mean like...
1. In the unlikely event you are hungry now but if you are, let's have a meal.
2. In the unlikely event that she is the girl who you talked about, but is she her?

However, these English sentences are more likely to have improbability, while the Korean sentences are more likely to refer to probability. But, '혹시' means "in the unlikely event". That's really true. Although they are same meaning, there are certain difference of degree or level of probability. I think that's why this expression is not commonly used in English while it does in Korean.
